Receiver-operating characteristic (ROC) curves of miR-21 and miR-339. ROC curve analysis and area under the curve (AUC) calculations were performed directly to determinate the diagnostic efficacy. The closer the area is to 0.5, the less useful the classification, and the closer it is to 1.0, the better the classification. The AUC values of miR-21 (left) and miR-339 (right) were 0.891 and 0.775, respectively. The x-axis records “1-specificity” in terms of the false positives and the y-axis records “sensitivity” in terms of the true positives; both axes are given in values between 0 and 1
